👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Thinly slice the beef against the grain; in a bowl, combine beef with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, and a pinch of black pepper, then marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the sauce by whisking together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, and water/broth in a small bowl; set aside.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat; add marinated beef and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes, then remove beef and set aside.
  4. Add broccoli florets to the same skillet, adding a tablespoon of water if needed, and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the broccoli; stir the prepared sauce one last time and pour it over the beef and broccoli.
  6. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli; serve immediately, optionally garnished with sesame seeds or green onions, usually over rice.
