🛒 Ingredients

  • Beef (chuck or sirloin) 200 g · 500 kcal
  • Onions 125 g · 50 kcal
  • White wine vinegar 25 g · 1 kcal
  • Black pepper, ground 0 g · 0 kcal
  • Bay leaf 0 g · 0 kcal

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Cut the beef into 1.5-inch (4 cm) cubes and slice the onions into thick rings. Place the beef and onions in a large non-reactive bowl.
  2. Add white wine vinegar, salt, ground black pepper, and bay leaves to the bowl. Mix thoroughly with your hands, squeezing the onions to release their juice.
  3. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight, for the flavors to meld.
  4. Preheat your grill (charcoal or gas) to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated beef cubes and onion rings onto metal skewers, alternating them.
  5. Grill the shashlik for 20-25 minutes, turning frequently, until the beef is nicely browned and cooked through to your desired doneness. Serve hot.
