👨🍳 Instructions
- Season the beef steaks with salt, pepper, and a pinch of mixed spices. In a large pot or deep skillet, heat half of the olive oil over medium-high heat and sear the steaks on both sides until browned, then remove and set aside.
- Add the remaining olive oil to the pot and sauté the sliced onions, bell peppers, and minced garlic until the onions are translucent. Stir in the diced tomatoes and the remaining mixed spices.
- Return the seared beef steaks to the pot, add the sliced potatoes, and pour in the beef broth. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat, cover, and cook for 30-40 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the flavors have melded.
- While the Bife a la Criolla is simmering, fry the large egg to your liking, preferably sunny-side up. Once the stew is ready, carefully place a fried egg on top of each serving.
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve hot. This hearty dish is a complete meal on its own.
