Galbi (Korean BBQ Short Ribs)

- Beef Short Ribs (flanken-cut) 220 g · 650 kcal

- Brown Sugar 6 g · 23 kcal
- Asian Pear (grated) 10 g · 6 kcal
- Garlic (minced) 5 g · 7 kcal
- Ginger (minced) 2 g · 2 kcal
- Sesame Oil 3 g · 26 kcal
- Mirin (rice wine) 3 g · 6 kcal
- Green Onions (sliced) 3 g · 1 kcal
👨🍳 Instructions
- If using bone-in short ribs, make shallow cuts along the meat to help it absorb the marinade; for flanken-cut, score lightly if desired.
- In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, grated Asian pear, minced garlic, minced ginger, sesame oil, and mirin to create the marinade.
- Add the short ribs to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well-coated; cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
- Preheat a grill or a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
- Place the marinated short ribs on the hot grill or skillet, shaking off excess marinade.
- Grill for 2-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer for desired doneness, until nicely caramelized and cooked through.
- Transfer the cooked Galbi to a serving platter, garnish with sliced green onions, and serve immediately with rice and banchan.
