👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Finely chop the onion and fresh parsley. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, parsley, cumin, allspice, black pepper, and 1.5 tsp of salt. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  2. Form the mixture into small, elongated kofta shapes, about 5-6 cm long. You should get approximately 12-16 kofta pieces.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wide pot over medium-high heat. Carefully add the kofta and brown them on all sides for about 5-7 minutes. Remove kofta from the pot and set aside.
  4. In the same pot, add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in the tomato paste and cook for another minute. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, add a pinch of sugar (optional, to balance acidity), and 0.5 tsp of salt.
  5. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then return the browned kofta to the pot. Cover and cook on low heat for 30-35 minutes, or until the kofta are cooked through and tender.
  6. Serve Kofta bi Bandadora hot, garnished with fresh parsley. It pairs wonderfully with rice, pita bread, or a simple green salad.
