👨🍳 Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Remove the giblets from the turkey cavity and pat the turkey thoroughly dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, lemon zest, fresh rosemary, and fresh thyme to create an herb butter mixture.
- Carefully loosen the turkey skin over the breast and thighs, then spread about two-thirds of the herb butter mixture underneath the skin. Rub the remaining herb butter over the outside of the turkey.
- Place halved lemon, onion, carrot, and celery into the turkey cavity. Tie the legs together with kitchen twine.
- Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a shallow roasting pan. Pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
- Roast the turkey for 2.5 to 3.5 hours, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh (without touching bone) reads 74°C (165°F). Baste every 30-45 minutes.
- Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and tent it loosely with foil. Let it rest for at least 20-30 minutes before carving to allow the juices to redistribute.
