👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Thinly slice the flank steak against the grain, then toss with cornstarch until evenly coated. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, brown sugar, minced ginger, and minced garlic to create the sauce.
  2. Heat half of the vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat. Sear the beef in batches until browned and crispy, then remove and set aside.
  3. Add the remaining oil to the wok, then pour in the prepared sauce. Bring the sauce to a simmer, stirring constantly, until it thickens slightly.
  4. Return the seared beef to the wok and toss to coat it thoroughly with the thickened sauce. Stir in the chopped green onions, reserving some for garnish.
  5. Serve immediately over steamed rice, garnished with the reserved green onions.
