  1. First, prepare the chili-garlic paste: in a mortar and pestle, pound the garlic and Thai chilies until a coarse paste forms. Set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the chili-garlic paste and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground chicken to the wok and break it up with a spoon. Stir-fry until the chicken is cooked through and lightly browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the fish sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, and sugar. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly.
  5. Add the green beans (if using) and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp. Finally, add the holy basil leaves and stir-fry quickly for about 30 seconds until they wilt.
