Yakiniku

- Beef short plate or sirloin, thinly sliced 150 g · 375 kcal
- Soy Sauce 30 g · 15 kcal
- Mirin (sweet rice wine) 15 g · 40 kcal
- Sake (cooking wine) 15 g · 20 kcal
- Garlic, minced 5 g · 8 kcal
- Ginger, grated 5 g · 4 kcal
- Sesame oil 5 g · 45 kcal
- Toasted sesame seeds 2 g · 11 kcal
- Onion, sliced 30 g · 12 kcal
- Bell pepper (any color), sliced 30 g · 9 kcal
- Mushrooms (shiitake or button), sliced 20 g · 5 kcal
👨🍳 Instructions
- Prepare the Yakiniku sauce by combining soy sauce, mirin, sake, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil in a bowl; stir well and set aside.
- Place the thinly sliced beef in a shallow dish, pour about half of the prepared sauce over it, and marinate for at least 15-20 minutes at room temperature or up to an hour in the refrigerator.
- Arrange the sliced onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms on a serving platter alongside the marinated beef.
- Heat a tabletop grill or cast-iron griddle over medium-high heat, then grill the beef and vegetables in batches until cooked to your desired doneness, turning frequently.
- Serve the grilled yakiniku immediately with the remaining sauce as a dipping sauce, garnished with toasted sesame seeds, and optionally with steamed rice.
