👨🍳 Instructions
- Press the extra-firm tofu to remove excess water, then cut it into 1-inch cubes. In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
- Remove the crispy tofu from the skillet and set aside. In a small bowl, whisk together orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, rice vinegar, maple syrup, and water.
- In the same skillet (add a little more oil if needed), sauté minced ginger and garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour the orange sauce mixture into the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Return the crispy tofu to the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently to coat all the tofu cubes evenly.
- Serve immediately, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Best enjoyed with steamed rice or noodles.
