  • Brown Shrimp, cooked and peeled 80 g · 68 kcal
  • Unsalted Butter 60 g · 430 kcal
  • Fresh Lemon Juice 5 g · 1 kcal
  • Ground Mace 0 g · 1 kcal
  • Cayenne Pepper 0 g · 0 kcal

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Gently melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat; skim off any foam that rises to the top and carefully pour the clear butter into another bowl, leaving the milky solids behind (this is clarified butter).
  2. Return a small amount of the clarified butter to the saucepan with the ground mace and cayenne pepper; warm gently for 1-2 minutes to infuse the spices.
  3. Add the cooked brown shrimp to the spiced butter and heat through gently for 1-2 minutes until warmed, being careful not to overcook them.
  4. Stir in the fresh lemon juice and season with a pinch of salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Carefully spoon the shrimp and butter mixture into small ramekins or individual pots.
  6. Allow the potted shrimps to cool completely, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until the butter sets firmly.
  7. Serve cold with crusty bread or toast points.
