🛒 Ingredients

  • Prawns (shrimp), peeled and deveined 150 g · 128 kcal
  • Olive oil 13 g · 119 kcal
  • Garlic, minced 6 g · 9 kcal
  • Crushed tomatoes (canned) 150 g · 30 kcal
  • Ouzo (optional) 13 g · 36 kcal
  • Feta cheese, crumbled 50 g · 132 kcal
  • Fresh parsley, chopped 5 g · 2 kcal

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a saganaki pan or small oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and bring the sauce to a gentle simmer. Cook for 5-7 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Add the prawns to the simmering sauce and cook for 2-3 minutes until they begin to turn pink. Optionally, add ouzo and carefully ignite it (flambé) for a dramatic effect and extra flavor; let the flames die down.
  4. Sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese over the prawns and sauce. You can either cover and simmer for a couple more minutes, or place the skillet under a hot broiler for 3-5 minutes until the feta is bubbly and lightly browned.
  5. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately with crusty bread for dipping.
