  1. Rinse the peeled and deveined shrimp, then cut them into bite-sized pieces. Place the shrimp in a non-reactive bowl.
  2. Pour the fresh lime juice over the shrimp, ensuring they are fully submerged. Add salt to taste, mix gently, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour, or until the shrimp turn opaque.
  3. While the shrimp marinates, prepare the vegetables. In a separate bowl, combine the finely diced red onion, diced tomato, chopped cilantro, and minced jalapeño.
  4. Once the shrimp are opaque, drain off most of the lime juice, leaving a small amount. Add the prepared vegetables to the shrimp and mix well to combine all ingredients.
