👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. If using raw shrimp, peel and devein them, then boil in lightly salted water for 2-3 minutes until pink and cooked through; drain and immediately transfer to an ice bath to chill completely. If using pre-cooked shrimp, simply rinse and ensure they are chilled.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Clamato juice, ketchup, fresh lime juice, finely diced red onion, chopped cilantro, and minced serrano pepper.
  3. Add the chilled shrimp and diced avocado to the mixture, stirring gently to combine all ingredients.
  4. Season the cocktail with salt and black pepper to taste, adding a dash of your favorite hot sauce if desired for extra spice.
  5. Chill the Coctel de Camarón for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator before serving to allow the flavors to meld. Serve in a tall glass, traditionally accompanied by tostadas or crackers.
