👨🍳 Instructions
- Press the extra-firm tofu for at least 30 minutes to remove excess water, then cut into 1-inch cubes. In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat neutral oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu in a single layer and cook for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
- While the tofu cooks, whisk together the tamari, maple syrup, rice vinegar, toasted sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and water in a small bowl to create the sauce.
- Once the tofu is crispy, pour the sauce over it in the skillet. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring gently, until the sauce thickens and coats the tofu beautifully.
- Serve immediately, garnished with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
