👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Press the extra-firm tofu for at least 30 minutes to remove excess water, then cut into 1-inch cubes. In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. Heat neutral oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu in a single layer and cook for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  3. While the tofu cooks, whisk together the tamari, maple syrup, rice vinegar, toasted sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and water in a small bowl to create the sauce.
  4. Once the tofu is crispy, pour the sauce over it in the skillet. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring gently, until the sauce thickens and coats the tofu beautifully.
  5. Serve immediately, garnished with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
