  • Tempeh 150 g · 285 kcal
  • Vegetable oil 20 g · 180 kcal
  • Garlic 5 g · 7 kcal
  • Coriander powder 2 g · 6 kcal

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Slice the tempeh block into thin, even pieces, about 0.5 cm thick. You can cut them into rectangles or triangles as desired.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine crushed garlic, coriander powder, sugar, salt, and 50ml of water to create a marinade. Mix well until sugar and salt are dissolved.
  3. Submerge the tempeh slices in the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Let them marinate for at least 15-20 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  4. Heat enough vegetable oil in a wok or deep pan over medium-high heat for deep-frying the tempeh. The oil should be hot, around 170-180°C (340-350°F).
  5. Carefully add the marinated tempeh slices to the hot oil in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the fried tempeh from the oil and place them on a wire rack lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve immediately as a side dish or snack.
