👨🍳 Instructions
- Drain and rinse the canned jackfruit thoroughly, then pat dry. Use your hands to shred the jackfruit pieces, removing any tough core parts, until they resemble pulled pork.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes, then add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the shredded jackfruit to the skillet along with smoked paprika and black pepper. Stir well to combine and cook for 3-5 minutes, allowing the jackfruit to lightly brown.
- Pour in the BBQ sauce, stir thoroughly, and bring to a gentle simmer. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and the jackfruit is tender and fully coated.
- Remove from heat and serve hot. BBQ jackfruit is excellent in sandwiches, tacos, or as a side dish.
