🛒 Ingredients

  • Canned Young Green Jackfruit (in brine, drained) 150 g · 60 kcal
  • BBQ Sauce (gluten-free) 60 g · 72 kcal
  • Onion, chopped 50 g · 20 kcal
  • Garlic, minced 6 g · 9 kcal
  • Olive Oil 10 g · 88 kcal
  • Smoked Paprika 2 g · 1 kcal
  • Black Pepper 1 g · 0 kcal

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse the canned jackfruit thoroughly, then pat dry. Use your hands to shred the jackfruit pieces, removing any tough core parts, until they resemble pulled pork.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes, then add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the shredded jackfruit to the skillet along with smoked paprika and black pepper. Stir well to combine and cook for 3-5 minutes, allowing the jackfruit to lightly brown.
  4. Pour in the BBQ sauce, stir thoroughly, and bring to a gentle simmer. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and the jackfruit is tender and fully coated.
  5. Remove from heat and serve hot. BBQ jackfruit is excellent in sandwiches, tacos, or as a side dish.
