- Raw Peanuts (in shell) 1000 g · 3119 kcal
- Water 4000 g · 0 kcal
👨🍳 Instructions
- Thoroughly rinse the raw peanuts under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris, gently scrubbing them if necessary.
- Place the cleaned peanuts in a large pot and add enough water to cover them by at least 2 inches (5 cm); add the salt.
- Bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for at least 2-3 hours.
- Check the tenderness of the peanuts; they should be soft and slightly yielding to the bite. If not, continue simmering, checking every 30 minutes.
- Once cooked to your desired tenderness, remove the pot from the heat and let the peanuts soak in the salty water for another 30 minutes to absorb more flavor.
- Drain the peanuts and serve them warm, or let them cool to room temperature. They can be stored in their liquid in the refrigerator for up to a week.
