🛒 Ingredients

  • Raw Peanuts (in shell) 1000 g · 3119 kcal
  • Water 4000 g · 0 kcal

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Thoroughly rinse the raw peanuts under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris, gently scrubbing them if necessary.
  2. Place the cleaned peanuts in a large pot and add enough water to cover them by at least 2 inches (5 cm); add the salt.
  3. Bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for at least 2-3 hours.
  4. Check the tenderness of the peanuts; they should be soft and slightly yielding to the bite. If not, continue simmering, checking every 30 minutes.
  5. Once cooked to your desired tenderness, remove the pot from the heat and let the peanuts soak in the salty water for another 30 minutes to absorb more flavor.
  6. Drain the peanuts and serve them warm, or let them cool to room temperature. They can be stored in their liquid in the refrigerator for up to a week.
