  • Matsoni (full-fat yogurt) 200 g · 124 kcal

  • Cooked short-grain rice 30 g · 39 kcal
  • Cooked chickpeas 30 g · 45 kcal
  • Fresh dill 8 g · 3 kcal

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Wash and finely chop all fresh herbs (dill, cilantro, mint, spinach). Set aside.
  2. In a large pot, whisk together the yogurt, water, and egg until smooth.
  3. Add the cooked rice and cooked chickpeas to the yogurt mixture and stir well.
  4. Place the pot over medium-low heat and cook, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon in one direction, until the mixture begins to simmer gently. Do not allow it to boil vigorously to prevent curdling.
  5. Once simmering, reduce heat to low and add the chopped herbs. Continue to stir occasionally for another 5-10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  6. Season with salt to taste. Serve Dovga warm or chilled, garnished with extra fresh herbs.
