- Wash and trim the green beans; if they are long, you can snap them in half. Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.
- In a large pot or deep skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened and translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it. Stir in the trimmed green beans.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and add about 1/2 cup of water, salt, and black pepper to taste. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
