🛒 Ingredients

  • Seitan (pre-made, plain) 100 g · 140 kcal
  • Soy sauce (low sodium) 15 g · 8 kcal
  • Olive oil 7 g · 63 kcal
  • Garlic, minced 3 g · 5 kcal
  • Fresh ginger, grated 2 g · 2 kcal
  • Smoked paprika 3 g · 7 kcal
  • Maple syrup 10 g · 26 kcal

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Slice the seitan into thin cutlets or strips, about 1/2 inch (1.25 cm) thick, for even grilling.
  2. In a shallow dish, whisk together the soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, smoked paprika, and maple syrup to create the marinade.
  3. Add the seitan slices to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Marinate for at least 15 minutes at room temperature, or up to 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
  5. Place the marinated seitan on the hot grill. Grill for 3-5 minutes per side, or until deeply browned with visible grill marks and heated through.
  6. Remove the grilled seitan from the heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving. Serve hot, optionally garnished with fresh herbs.
