👨🍳 Instructions
- Wash and trim the green beans, then cut them into 2-inch pieces. Prepare the onion by finely chopping it, and mince the garlic.
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened and translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and green beans to the pot, stirring well to coat the beans. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and water, then season with salt and pepper, adding a pinch of sugar if desired to balance acidity. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 30-40 minutes, or until the green beans are very tender and the sauce has thickened. Stir occasionally.
