  • Crushed Tomatoes 100 g · 20 kcal
  • Garlic Cloves 5 g · 7 kcal
  • Fresh Red Chili Pepper 3 g · 1 kcal

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Thoroughly clean the fresh mussels by scrubbing their shells and removing any 'beards'; discard any mussels that are open and do not close when tapped.
  2. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat, then sauté the minced garlic and chopped chili pepper until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add the crushed tomatoes to the pot and simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  4. Pour in the dry white wine and bring to a quick boil, letting the alcohol evaporate for about 1 minute.
  5. Add the cleaned mussels to the pot, cover tightly, and cook for 5-7 minutes, shaking the pot occasionally, until all mussels have opened. Discard any unopened mussels.
  6. Stir in the fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately, ideally with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
