  1. Thoroughly clean the clams by scrubbing them under cold running water; discard any clams that are open and do not close when tapped.
  2. In a large pot or deep skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the minced garlic and sauté for about one minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the dry white wine and bring to a simmer, then add the cleaned clams, cover the pot tightly, and steam for 5-7 minutes.
