- Urad Dal (Split Black Gram Lentils, Skinless) 50 g · 173 kcal

👨🍳 Instructions
- Wash and soak the urad dal in water for 30 minutes. Drain the dal and set aside.
- In a pressure cooker, add the soaked dal with 2 cups of fresh water, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 3-4 whistles or until tender.
- For the tadka, heat ghee in a small pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add chopped onion and green chili, sauté until the onion turns golden brown. Then add ginger-garlic paste and cook for another minute.
- Stir in chopped tomatoes, red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Cook until the tomatoes soften and the oil separates.
- Pour the cooked dal into the tadka mixture, mix well, and bring to a simmer for 5-7 minutes to combine the flavors.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
