👨🍳 Instructions
- Rinse 60g Toor Dal thoroughly under running water, then soak it in fresh water for 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the soaked dal and cook it with 300ml of fresh water and 1g turmeric powder in a pressure cooker for 3-4 whistles, or in a pot until very soft.
- In a separate pan, heat 10g ghee over medium heat and add 1g cumin seeds; let them splutter.
- Add 50g chopped onion and sauté until golden brown, then stir in 5g chopped garlic, 5g grated ginger, and 3g chopped green chili.
- Add 50g chopped tomato, 1g coriander powder, 1g garam masala, and salt to taste. Cook until tomatoes soften and the mixture thickens.
- Pour the cooked dal into the spice mixture, stir well, and simmer for 5-7 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Garnish with 5g fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or bread.
