👨🍳 Instructions
- Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the tuna steaks for 2-3 minutes per side, or until lightly browned, then remove them and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped red onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the dry white wine and deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes until the alcohol mostly evaporates.
- Add the chopped tomatoes, pitted black olives, and rinsed capers to the skillet. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Return the seared tuna steaks to the skillet, nestling them into the sauce. Continue to cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the tuna is cooked to your desired doneness.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.
