👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prepare the egg filling: finely chop the hard-boiled eggs and mix with 100g mayonnaise, a pinch of salt and pepper.
  2. Prepare the shrimp filling: chop the cooked shrimp and mix with 100g mayonnaise, chopped dill, a squeeze of lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  3. Lay 5 slices of crustless sandwich bread side-by-side on a serving platter to form the first layer, trimming as needed for a neat shape.
  4. Spread the egg filling evenly over the first layer of bread.
  5. Add a second layer of 5 bread slices and spread the shrimp filling over it.
  6. Place the final layer of 5 bread slices on top, ensuring the entire cake is compact.
  7. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, and the remaining 100g mayonnaise until smooth to create the frosting.
  8. Cover the entire Smörgåstårta (top and sides) with the cream cheese mixture, smoothing it with a spatula.
  9. Decorate the top of the cake with slices of smoked salmon, cucumber ribbons, lemon wedges, fresh dill sprigs, cherry tomatoes, and lettuce leaves.
  10. Chill the Smörgåstårta for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
