👨🍳 Instructions
- Pat the snapper fillet dry with paper towels; score the skin a few times if desired, then place it on a heatproof plate.
- Thinly slice half of the fresh ginger and half of the scallions; arrange these slices over the snapper fillet.
- Prepare a steamer with boiling water. Place the plate with the snapper into the steamer, cover, and steam for 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flaky.
- While the fish is steaming, thinly slice the remaining fresh ginger into matchsticks and finely chop the remaining scallions and fresh cilantro for garnish.
- Once the fish is cooked, carefully remove the plate from the steamer. Remove the cooked ginger and scallions from the fish, as their flavor might be too strong after steaming.
- Garnish the steamed snapper with the fresh matchstick ginger, chopped scallions, and cilantro. Drizzle with light soy sauce and sesame oil just before serving.
